The Galapagos Islands are a group of islands west of the Ecuadorian mainland.  These islands are best known for being the site of Charles Darwin's observations for evolution.  These islands are home to a great variety of wildlife, including the aptly named Galapagos Tortoise.  These islands are quite expensive for the outsider to travel to, so budget wisely.
